The year 2022 was marked by numerous events (the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, the climate crisis, etc.). These events are causing record inflation internationally. In this context, the transportation sector is not immune; quite the contrary, we explain why:
For information purposes, between 2021 and 2022, fuel prices increased by an average of 20%, which represents around 30 cents more per litre.
This trend is unlikely to reverse given the continued rise in the total cost of heavy goods vehicles. The National Council of the Resistance predicts an increase of around 8.8% for 2023.
Indeed, several factors whose price increases have an impact on the pricing of logistics services: the drivers' salaries , the tolls , the vehicle prices and the maintenance cost .
A decision designed for you
In this inflationary context, and despite our resilience, we found ourselves facing a major challenge. Two complex business strategies therefore presented themselves to us:
- Charge all shipping costs to our customers
- Increase the amount of free postage
We have made the strategic choice to increase the amount of free postage.
